The 2021 graduating class of St. Frederick High School received diplomas during a ceremony Wednesday, May 19 held at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church.
The 53 graduates will now disperse to 14 different colleges and universities across 6 states.
The Most Reverend Francis Malone, Bishop of Shreveport, delivered the invocation and benediction. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Senior Class Representative, Nelson Sparks, and the National Anthem was sung by Anna Grace Gill.
In the ceremony, Valedictorian Cameron Oglesby and Salutatorian Tierney Gammage, both from Monroe, were recognized, along with the Honor Graduates, Top Honor Graduates, All As, and members of the National Honor Society.
Three additional awards were given: the Community Spirit of St. Frederick Awards went to Tracy Oglesby and Jennifer Sparks; the Faculty of St. Frederick Award went to Rhonda Davis; the Bishop’s Medals went to Stephen Bourgeois and Anna Grace Gill.
Principal Dr. Carynn Wiggins said, “This has been a challenging year for many educators and students, but this group of Warriors stayed the course and finished strong. We are very proud of all their accomplishments and wish them all the best in their future educational pursuits.”
